Snow Fun

We headed over to CiCo this afternoon so that the boys could enjoy the snow.
Mitch giving the snowboard a try.
Grant getting ready to go over the ramp.
He got quite a bit of air.......but his mother cut his head off!

Headed home, rosy cheeks and all.

Out with the old.....

......In with the new!
Thank goodness Santa brought the boys a new basketball goal. The old one is headed to the curb this week.

Unique Jacket

Spotted this jacket in Lawrence while sitting at a stop light. Where do you suppose one finds such a jacket, with very large spikes on it. I wonder if it's machine washable.......

The biggest dogs ever!

I tried so hard to get a good pic with these very large dogs. They were just a little excited with all the people around. These are my sister in laws friends dogs, the gal who hosted her party, and they are HUGE. Weighing in at about 165 a piece, but they were so sweet. And yes, they are indoor dogs. And yes, they do get up and sleep on the sofa. The male dog (light brown) has to have a blanket on him when his in on the couch, or he cries. Funniest thing ever.

I haven't been blogging, but we have still been busy..

Mitch has had his Christmas program at school.
Both boys have played in basketball tournaments.
My sister-in-law turned 40.

Christy and I with her Aunts at her birthday bash. Scott had to miss, because he was in Newton with Grant. I headed to KC after Mitch's game. We proceeded to play Rock Band way into the night..........which turned into 4am! I am too old for this stuff.

Cats at the Sprint Center

The gang went to KC on Sunday to watch the Wildcats play at the Sprint Center. I chose to stay behind and have the house to myself!

Thanksgiving Guests

We had Thanksgiving at our house this year. Don't kid yourself though, my mom still cooked the majority of the meal. I was in charge of the mashed potatoes and Scott deep fryed the turkeys. I prefer the mess to clean up over the cooking.Aunt Dee with her chocolate cheesecake.
Grandpa Tom.....Scott's Dad.
Scott making a smiley face for Micah.
Jordan and Aunt Karen.
My Mommy and Daddy.
I didn't capture everyone, and I managed to avoid all the photos. We ate too much, but had a great time. Then, on Black Friday, got up at 3:30am to do some Christmas shopping. Every year, I swear that I am not going to do it, and........every year, I get up early to face the crowd!!

Big Brother Trouble

This is what happens when little brother gets in the way of big brother and his friend.

Duck, Duck, Goose

Mitch's basketball tournament was cancelled this weekend, so we headed up to Atchison to watch their cousin wrestle and then do a little hunting. This is Josh's first year, and he is just so tiny. He is a 7th grader, but doesn't weigh much more than Mitch.
The ducks that their dads got. I am afraid that Grant is not going to be a doctor as he gets older. He didn't do so well when Uncle Bill was cleaning the ducks.
These two have so much fun together. I am glad we live close enough that they have been able to stay good buds.

Basketball is here!

Grant had his first basketball tournament this weekend in Topeka. They played Friday evening, then back again Saturday evening for 2 games....after the K-State game, then back again on Sunday. It was exhausting, but a lot of fun to watch them play. Grant prepping for his game..........listening to his tunes.
#14
The little brothers that get dragged to everything.

A Good Day

Watching Coach Mangino beg Coach Sean Snyder to finish his plates of burritos before they start the game. The awesome fly over.......that I barely got in the picture.
Grant finally got his turn on the sidelines. What a great day for it!
By the end of the day, it didn't even matter that this was my view the entire game.

Toilet Talk

This lovely mail box is on my drive to Emporia, in between Council Grove and Americus. This mailbox, until about a couple of months ago, when there was a terrible wind storm, used to have a real toilet right below the arrow. This has been there since my days as a sales rep for Kansas Cellular, which was about 10+ yrs. ago. The toilet finally came down, but they have left the rest of it. I think the thing I find most funny is...............look at the neighbor's house!

Random

Where do I even begin with this one. Yes, this photo was taken in Kansas, and yes, MANDY.......this is not too far from your old stompin' grounds. Oh, the things I get to see along the way to my different stores.

My little Army Guy

Mitch was having a hard time deciding whether to go Trick or Treating, or watch the Cats. He found some time for a quick trip around the neighborhood early on when it looked like we were gonna get smoked.
