"A" Town

We traveled up North to Atchison on Christmas Day to celebrate with Scott's side of the family. Micah and Scott on their laptops.
All the cousins.
The kids and dog were absolutely exhausted after a long weekend of eating, staying up waaayyy too late, playing Wii, did I mention eating??, watching "A Christmas Story" and listening to stories when Scott and Bill were little. After listening to some of the things they did as kids, I must say that I am still truly blessed with my 2 little angels. For example........all 3 of the siblings had a fight with the fire extinguishers.......in the house!!

Grant and Josh headed out to sled down the icy hill.

Dear Santa-

Believe it or not, Santa did find our house this year. Below is the note that Mitch left for him. Mitch asked Santa for 2 things this year. (1) Jesus knocking at his door (gotta love those Catholic Schools) and (2) Spongebob Mitch trying patiently to wait for his brother to get up.
Jorgie getting in on some of the action.

The South Pole

Not exactly the South Pole.........we headed down to Southeast Kansas to have Christmas with my brother and his family along with my parents this past weekend. The 'Slanket' (you know, the blanket with arms) was a big hit with Mitch from his Aunt Karen. And yes, it was on his Christmas list.

The hit of the evening came from Grandma and Grandpa. All 3 grandkids received a Ninendo DS. Pure JOY!!!

I thought I was feeding the birds...........

I have always thrown out old bread and the bottom of the bag chip crumbs to the "birds." Or, so I thought. I should have caught on when I tossed a whole piece of pizza out back one night and it was gone in a matter of seconds. This little fella has had quite a buffet, and, the worse part of it now...........is that I feel sorry for him in the cold and snow. Jen S., surely your husband has some sort of trap for this kind of thing?!? And, if you are wondering how I got so close, that is how close he is to the back door. He is really making himself quite at home. I am guessing his penthouse is under our deck. Why couldn't it have been a cute little bunny that I was feeding.

Lame

The exact words from my 10 year old about snowboarding on the driveway.

Hidden Potential

Well, actually.......hidden in the back row playing the saxophone. Grant had his Christmas program last night despite the nasty weather. This was their first year playing instruments. (so much for the red-eye reduction)

It's all about the right kit.

The boys wanted to make gingerbread houses again this year. We made them by candle light last year during the ice storm to pass the time. Last year's turned out great. It was a kit we had gotten from Target.
Noticing something different about this kit. No base to help hold the walls, AND, I had to make the frosting. Already, 2 strikes against this one.
WHOOOPS!!
One completed, and one still in pieces on the counter. Doesn't look anything like the picture on the box! Oh well, the boys had fun trying.

Elastic waistband pants.........

Is what I am soon going to need in my wardrobe if I keep sampling these things!! I decided that it might be a good idea if I knew exactly what the product that I sold tasted like. I must say that I haven't had a bad piece yet. And, if you are looking for stuffers, the caramel Santas Rock!

They finally keep score!

Mitch's basketball season kicked off on Sunday. We sort of skipped a few steps and he is playing on a competitive 3rd grade team. He is sooooo excited that they actually keep score in this league.
Mitch looking on nervously (notice his hands squeezed tightly together). This is towards the end of the game when the score got within 1 point.
Mitch and Grant K. after their first game and first win!!

Progressive Dinner

Another great progressive dinner. Thanks to our hosts, the Shamburg's, then on to the Walker's for dessert. Looks like everyone got the memo to wear Gray or Black!

Saturday Champs!

We traveled to Topeka yesterday for a Basketball Tournament. The boys won all three of their games and ended up with a first place medal!

Boy, Girl, Boy, Girl,........

Mitch's Basketball team scrimmaged the 3rd grade girls tonight. Man those girls were tall. (Luckily, we won!)

A Shot at Love

With Tila Tequila............
I was out of town the day my hubby turned 40, however, Dave, his co-worker, decorated his office for him. Funny thing is, I was a "closet watcher" of her show.
