Colorado Springs

We were able to take an evening and go to Colorado Springs, CO. Scott had a buddy that lived there that he hadn't seen in over 20 years. They picked up like no time had past at all. Mark on his tippy toes so he "looks" a little taller!
Mark found an old photo album that they got a chuckle out of.
An old photo of Scott taking it to the hoop.
We had a great dinner and converstaion. The evenings there were chilly, so actually had to come inside to finish up.
We left about 9:30pm that evening.......this is what Mark woke up to at 2:30am digging in his trash can. He lives in town!!

Fire Fighter Memorial

We traveled to Colorado Springs to view the Fire Fighter Memorial. Scott and Christy's Uncle Gary was killed in the line of duty, and his name is on the wall.

Headed West

We traveled to Colorado to watch Grant's baseball team play in the AAYBA World Series. We were able to sqeeze in a few other activities in between games. We didn't have any games on Wednesday, so we headed up to Estes Park.
The boys had a blast letting these little critters eat out of their hands.
Mitch testing out the VERY cold water.
We ate at this great little Pizza joint. It is owned by a gentleman from Salina, KS.

I didn't escape it

Aunt Christy and I gave in and took Mitch to the fair tonight. Thank goodness his buddies were there so that I didn't have to get on any rides!

My Favorite 9 year old.

Happy Birthday to my favorite red head! I can not believe that he turns 9 years old today. We celebrated with some of his friends at the bowling alley last night. We started off Saturday morning getting ready for what was to come in the afternoon. We had to rewatch Toy Story 1 and 2.
Then off to lunch at Jimmy John's.
And then ready for Toy Story 3!! It was a really good one as well.

Mitch and I had a great day today. Headed to Target after the movie to spend the Grandparents money they gave him (and really kinda hoping he forgets about the fair.) Doesn't the Atchison fair count? I have paid my dues already as far as that goes.

Coming to an end

The U9 Titans finished up last night with their year end party at Twin Oaks. These kids had a great season taking 2nd place at NBC State held in Manhattan.
They had to get one last baseball game in!
A little fishing.........
And leave it to my child to find this.
